DEBIT / CREDIT CARD AND DEPOSIT INFORMATION:

At the time of rental, a current driver’s license and major credit card must be presented in the renter’s name. Debit Check Cards, Prepaid Credit Cards, Gift Cards, Travelers Checks, Personal Checks, Money Orders, Cash and the small key ring credit cards are NOT accepted for payment in Canada. At time of rental, an authorization hold of 20% or up to 200.00CAD, will be secured on the credit/debit card provided, to cover the estimated charges and any additional charges that may be incurred. These funds will not be available for your use. If Thrifty cannot secure credit approval for this amount and/or proper identification credentials are not supplied, Thrifty will decline your rental. When the rental is over we will process the reversal, but the bank may take time to post it back to the account. Thrifty will not be responsible for any returned checks or overdraft fees incurred.

Driver's age

25 to 99 years.

Young driver's age: 21 to 24 years. Charge 30 CAD per day. (Excludes tax); Excess 1,000 CAD

Customers who fall outside the age limitations will not be able to hire a car unless there is a young or senior driver fee specified in this section. Please note that if applicable, this fee will be included in the rental price and will be payable on arrival at the rental desk in the local currency.

Travel Restrictions

Please note that customers intending to travel across country/state borders or to different islands within the same country should contact the Rental Company directly prior to pick up to advise of their travel plans. Restrictions and charges may be applicable. Contact details for the Rental Company can be found on your rental voucher.

Airport fee

Breakdown assistance

Breakdown assistance is included with this car. In case of emergency during business hours, call the number provided by your car hire supplier and they will send help. Assistance outside of business hours may incur an extra charge. Please note that this only covers mechanical failure.

Unlimited mileage

Unlimited mileage with this rental means you can drive as much as you want, with no additional charges for extra kilometres.

Collision damage waiver (CDW)

Often referred to as CDW, this partially covers damages incurred to your vehicle. Please note that you will still be liable for insurance excess (see: Not Included section below). CDW does not cover damage or loss of keys, tyres, glass or undercarriage.

Theft waiver (TW)

This covers costs relating to the theft or attempted theft of the rental vehicle but does not cover the loss of personal possessions. Please note that you will still be liable for insurance excess (see below).

Third party liability protection (TP)

This covers damage sustained to another driver’s car in the event of an accident caused by you.
